Resetting a sideways peer relationship

You and a colleague you must work with have become tense and avoidant.

Strategy

Name it, own your part, propose a small reset.

I want to reset something between us. I have noticed we are talking past each other on the rollout, and I do not think either of us wants that. I have probably contributed by not flagging blockers early. I would like to try a ten-minute Monday alignment and agree to say it in that room if something is bugging either of us. Are you open to that?

If they push back

If they downplay it: 'I hear you that it is not a big deal for you. It has been on my mind, and I would rather clear it than let it drift.'

What not to say

Do not list their faults or bring up third-party complaints.
